5th Grade

Be sure to keep up with grades on eSembler. Grades are updated daily. There is one problem with eSembler at this time. The letter grades are not correct, but the number grades are correct. The letter grade should corespond to the number grade as follows:

Grading Scale:    90-100%     A

                            80-89%     B

                            70-79%    C

                            60-69%       D

                            59 and below   U                       

Please return field trip forms and student information letters as soon as possible!

Week of November 24th

Math

Be sure to continue practicing your multiplication.

Monday we will learn the order of operations. Homework will be 12.2.

Tuesday we will investigate number patterns. Homework will be 12.3.

Wednesday we will be working with functions. Homework will be 12.4.

Thursday we will be problem solving. Homework will be 12.5.

Friday we will be using properties. Homework is 12.7.

Writing

This week we will be finishing our reviews. Tuesday we will begin a new essay. Students will pick the topic. There will be a review spelling test on Friday.

Reading

This week we will be reviewing Unit 2. We will continue to work with plural and possessive nouns. Reading assessments will be on Friday. Homework for the week continues to be Reading Logs.

Science

Monday we will investigate how organisms grow and reproduce.

Tuesday we will survey inherited traits.

Wednesday will be The Great American Teach-In.

Thursday we will finish our lesson on how organisms grow and reproduce. Homework will be L1A.

Friday we will learn how traits are passed along.

Social Studies

This week we finish Chapter 19. The chapter test is planned for Wednesday.
