Academy at the Farm Director, Dr. Rom

Dr. Rom has been the Director of the Academy Farm since the first year 2002-2003. He began his career in 1969 as an ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teacher, served as a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal in the public schools, was a professor of Psychology at a community college, and retired as a Provost of the community college.

He received his B.A. degree in Psychology and M.A. in ESE-Emotionally Disturbed from the University of South Florida. He received his doctorate from the University of Florida in Educational Leadership with concentrations in Counseling and Special Education. Dr. Rom is starting his 39 th year as a professional educator.

Dr. Rom has been married over 40 years to Lucile and has two grown married children, David and Michele. He is the proud grandfather (Papa) of five grandchildren, Bess, Michael, Susie, Catherine, and James. He is family centered both at home and school. His basic philosophy is to do what is best for children through support, guidance and love. This is practiced at home and also at the Academy.
