If you are interested in learning to play a band instrument and being a part of a successful,
exciting and fun band program, you are in the right place! We have many musical opportunities for you to participate in.
The Academy AT The Farm offers at this time a Beginning Band, and in the future will offer
the following ensembles; Concert Band, Wind Symphony, and Jazz/Rock Ensemble.
Beginning Band: Students are introduced to and tested on various beginning musical
instruments. With good instruction, plenty of practice and team work the students will enjoy
learning to make music.
Concert Band: This band is for those students who have successfully completed the
requirements of Beginning. This group continues to progress in music and is also offered the
opportunity to participate in extra-curricular music functions such as solo and ensemble,
Honor Band and many of the same functions as the Advanced Band.
Wind Symphony: This group is for those who successfully completed all of the requirements
for the other band classes and successfully auditioned for a seat in this top performing
ensemble. The Wind Symphony will represent Academy At The Farm in many performances
and public events. Students in the band may audition and participate in many extra-curricular
events such as Florida Bandmaster's Association Music Performance Assessment, solo and
ensemble performances, all-county and all-state auditions etc. Students in this group are
required to participate in master classes held once per week from August through May.
