Middle School Grades 6th - 8th

The Academy at the Farm Middle School prides itself on its motto, “Work Hard, Play Hard!” We  believe in educating the “whole child” - where the development of a student’s character is as important as the growth of their academic abilities.    We offer a wide range of courses from core academics to a variety of electives.  Core academic classes include English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies at advanced and regular levels - including High School Algebra, Geometry and Spanish.

For the current school year, the following electives are offered:

  • Guitar - Offers students an introduction to basic guitar skills

  • Peer Counseling - Focuses on communication and leadership skills

  • Critical Thinking - Enables students to develop learning strategies, critical-thinking skills, and problem-solving skills to enhance their performance in academic and nonacademic endeavors.

  • Introduction to Agriscience - Offers students an introduction to animal care and physiology

  • Studio Art - Students explore media and techniques used to create a variety of 2-D artworks through developing skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage

  • Physical Education - This course provides exposure to a variety of movement opportunities and experiences for students

  • Reading - All middle school students take this elective as part of a Language Arts block. We use COLLECTIONS curriculum, the same curriculum used in all Pasco County schools,  but feel that the extra block allows us to dig deeper into the skills that students need to be strong readers.

  • Intensive Reading - Offers extra support in reading skills to students who need it

  • Intensive Math - Offers extra support in math skills to students in 6th grade
