FAQ

Since 2002, Academy at the Farm has been providing great foundations and great futures for students. With over 17 years as an “A” school, we’re thrilled to welcome new families for the 2025-2026 school year! This year, we are especially excited to offer ninth grade with the addition of our new high school! Applications are open for Preschool through 10th Grade.

1.  How are students selected?
Students are selected in an equal opportunity lottery.

2.  If one of my children is selected in the lottery, are my remaining children automatically selected?
No.  However, siblings will be placed at the top of the waiting list for their grade levels.

3. If my child is not selected, will they remain on the waiting list?
Yes. Students who are not selected will remain on the waiting list for the remainder of the current school year. If space becomes available in a grade level, the next student on the waiting list will be contacted and offered the opening.

Please note that applications and waitlist placements do not carry over from one school year to the next. Every student must submit a new application each year to be considered for enrollment.

4.  Do you accept ESE, ESOL, and children with special needs?
We will need to revie the information and confirm our ability to appropriately support the student’s educational needs.

11. If you have a student at preschool do I need to fill out apply again for the Lottery?
No, if you already have a student in preschool you will receive a VPK letter in the summer.

12. If my child is graduating from Academy at the Farm VPK and going to Kindergarten, are they guaranteed a spot?

Yes, they are guaranteed a spot in Kindergarten. However, an application is required because the paperwork for Kindergarten is different from Preschool.

13. If my child is already a current student moving up to the next grade level, do I need to complete an application?

No, Once a student is registered they do not need to fill out a new application for the next year. They will automatically roll over.  (This does NOT apply for the Preschool)

14. If I can’t remember whether I applied previously, should I submit another application?

If you’re unsure whether you already submitted an application, please check your email first. After you complete an application, the system sends a confirmation copy to your email. Be sure to look in your inbox as well as your spam or junk folder. Only submit a new application if you cannot find that confirmation.

15. When will I find out if my child is accepted?

Academy at the Farm experiences very little student turnover, so available seats are limited. Openings are filled based on the order of the waitlist as they become available.

When a seat opens in a grade level—such as when a student declines an offer or withdraws—the next student on the lottery list is contacted via email. Placement offers are made strictly in lottery order. For example, if your child is number 18 on the waitlist, 17 students would need to be offered a spot before your child is considered.

Please note that waitlist movement depends entirely on seat availability, so it can vary throughout the school year.

We look forward to welcoming your family to Academy at the Farm!
